Crazy Dreams
Date Posted: 2007-08-14The people I know who have the biggest impact for good on the world around them all have this in common: they have the guts to talk out loud about their crazy dreams.
That doesn't mean that their ideas always pan out. And it most certainly doesn't mean that their ideas don't get spit on and rubbed under foot. After all, hope is a dangerous thing for people who can't handle disappointment.
But these people, these world-changers, just keep on saying it. They talk about making a better life for people who are struggling and hurting. And because they keep saying it, they discover that for every naysayer there's somebody who has been dying to throw their life into something meaningful. And things happen and people come together, eventually, something great happens.
One of the reasons that we started St. Andrew's was to have a place where people could share their dreams. And where this synergy can take place; where one dreamer can connect with another; and through encouragement and partnership, make those dreams a reality
This discussions stream is a place to share in hope: hope to change our own life, hope to change our community, and even the hope to change the world.

So, just over 2 years ago I set a goal to own my own home. I just bought a condo!

Many times I've wished that God would speak audibly to me--just like he did with Abraham and Moses--that He would articulate exactly how much He loves me, that he knows my heart!
Even though I can read these truths in His Word, I wish that I could hear Him tell me...I wish that I could hear him say: "You're fighting the good fight--it's brutal out there in the world. You don't know that half of it when it comes to the spiritual warfare that's waged against you!"
There is too much man-made stuff in the church today, too many Bible translations, too many denominational spins--I just wish that Jesus would speak to me. I know He has the power to still my angst by uttering just one word from his mouth--He can choose whatever word he wants--it would be enough to quench my wishful thinking.

I just want it all!
Not in a materialistic, but in a relational and experiencial way.
